A public museum dedicated to human history, art and culture.  One can experience and explore world cultures from the Mediterranean to the Middle East and from the Americas to Africa. Two million years of human history and culture.  Its permanent collection of eight million works is the largest in the world.

The largest museum in the world is a characteristic building with 44 columns of 45 feet height in the ionic order, covering an area of over 990,000 square feet.

There are nearly one hundred galleries open to the public, representing 3.2KM of exhibition space. Galleries reveal the extraordinary cultural, artistic and historical diversity and complexity of the continents represented by the collections.

The Museum receives five million visitors a year.

At the centre of museum lies the Great Court.  Enclosed under a spectacular glass and steel roof, the court contains a number of sculptures from the Museum's collection.

I didn’t go around museum.  Simply seated in a bench in the Court and watched people from different countries.  Their attitude, their behaviour, their attire, their languages, their etiquettes, all fascinated me.  Indeed, it’s a great experience and a lesson too.

My wife, son and dinla visited all galleries.

Please create time to visit these two links to have an in-depth study on this Museum.  A worthy time-spend.
