Brushing of Death …

Three weeks back from today (6-12-2021 Monday), that’s on Monday the 15th November of 2021, the inevitable Death brushed aside my soul.

Monday, the 15th November of 2021.

I was at Shriram Sameeksha.  With my second son Umakanth.  In the wee hours, got up from the bed on an unbearable pricking pain in the heart.  As I thought of not disturbing my wife who was asleep well, and also being 63 with diabetic problem she needed a complete un disturbed sleep, I somehow controlled myself and slept back.

At 4 am, suddenly got up from bed and been to toilet.  While coming out, I was totally drenched out of excessive sweat.  I felt the dropouts.  Though I was not in a position to move my legs, I forced myself to reach bed and had lie-down.  On relaxing, the sleep took over me.

Around six, got up from the bed on the continuous pricking in my heart.  Informed my wife and son.  He immediately rang up my first son Srikanth who rushed on lightening speed and both my sons took me to nearby hospital Aster.

My BP was Normal, and so ECG and Echo.   A blood test has been administered to check the Troponin-I level.  The admissible level is 17-50 ng/L.  But mine was an abnormal 3057.  This result has categorically declared that a severe heart attack had happened.  The diagnosis is “Acute myocardial infarction I21”.  In plain language it is an interruption in the blood supply due to the presence of blood clot.

That’s the reason for excessive sweating when I came out from toilet.  Undoubtedly the Death brushed aside my soul.  God’s Grace, I didn’t handshake the death.  I survived by HIS mercy.

The best suitable incident that simply magnifies the Divine Mercy.

While I was in hospital, the SriVari prasadam was given to my wife and daughter-in-law at home.  The neighbour Murli with Bhattacharya who just returned from Tirumala handed over the Srinivasa Perumal’s Abisheka Thertham along with the traditional big laddu and Vadai.  The beauty is, he was not aware that I was hospitalised.

The percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty was performed.  It means, it is a minimally invasive procedure that opens blocked coronary arteries to improve blood flow to the heart muscle.

I myself watched the said procedure on monitor.

But on first note, I was very reluctant to undergo the said procedure.  Because of my father’s death on this same procedure.  He went inside the Operating Theatre but his body only came out.  That fear haunted me.  But my two sons were of strong opinion that I must undergo and they pacified me by detailing out the technology improvement in today’s operation comparing to 1990 procedures.  I owe my life to them.

I am very grateful and thankful to my wife who was very brave enough to control

herself to be at home while I was in hospital.  On my sons explanation of the successful procedure, she was calm and back to normal.
