By Local train from Hiroshima station to Miyajimaguchi station .. a 30-minutes journey .. then a 3/minute walk to ferry pier … took ferry to Miyajima Island .. ride took 12 minutes ..
MIYAJIMA ISLAND ..
Formally known as Itsukushima, meaning "Shrine Island" in Japanese.
A small sacred island, a significant religious site in Shintoism, in Hiroshima Bay, western Japan.
It’s famous for its iconic "floating" massive orange Torii Gate and the UNESCO World Heritage Itsukushima Shrine.
The island is known for its forests, ancient temples, free-roaming sacred deers and is considered one of Japan's three most scenic views.
The island is a center for wood carving, known as "Miyajima bori," making for unique souvenirs.

By Shinkansen from Hiroshima Station to Shin-Osaka Station … 321 KMs .. unbelievable it reached in 70 minutes with 3 stops .. at speed of 295KM/Hr .. ( almost Bangalore to Chennai )
