தீராத நோய் தீர்க்கும் ஸ்ரீ வைத்யநாதாஷ்டகம்
வேதங்களில் “பிஷக்” (வைத்தியன்) என்ற பதம் அதிகமாக சிவபெருமானையே குறிக்கிறது.
அவரையே வைத்தியர்களுக்கெல்லாம் நாதர் வைத்தியநாதர் என்று உலகம் போற்றுகிறது
இந்த துதியை பாராயணம் செய்தால் தீராத நோயெல்லாம் வைத்தீஸ்வரன் திருவருளால் தீரும்.
ஒவ்வொரு ஸ்லோகத்தையும் பாராயணம் செய்தவுடன் வைத்தீஸ்வரனை நினைத்து ஒரு நமஸ்காரம் செய்தால் அதிக பலன் கிடைக்கும் என்பது சான்றோர்கள் கருத்து.

I salute that God Shiva, Who is the king among physicians,
Who is worshipped by Rama and Lakshmana,
Who is woshipped by Jatayu, Who is worshipped by the Vedas,
Who is worshipped by Lord Subrahmanya,
Who is worshipped by the Sun God,
Who is worshipped by the Mars God,
Who is having a blue neck, and
Who is the personification of mercy.

Who wears the flow of Ganges and the moon on his head,
Who has three eyes, Who had killed the God of love and death,

மனிதர் வாழும் உலகத்தில் எல்லோருக்கும்
புலப்படும்படியாகப் பலவித லீலைகளைச் செய்தவருமான

Who has destroyed the three cities,
Who holds the bow called Pinaka,
Who destroys bad people daily, and
Who plays in the world of humans.

பாதம் முதல் தலை வரையிலும் ஏற்படக்கூடிய எந்த ஒரு நோயையும் நாசமாக்குகிறவரும், மகரிஷிகளால் ஆராதிக்கப்பட்டவரும்,
சூரியன், சந்திரன், அக்னி ஆகிய மூவரையும் முக்கண்களாகக் கொண்டவருமான
ஸ்ரீ வைத்யநாதன் எனும் பரமசிவனை நமஸ்கரிக்கிறேன்.
I salute that God Shiva, Who is the king among physicians,
Who cures all great diseases like rheumatism and arthritis,
Who is saluted by great sages, and to
Whom, the Sun god, Moon and God of Fire are eyes.

कुष्ठादि सर्वोन्नतरो गहन्त्रे . குஷ்டாதி ஸர்வோன்னதரோ கஹந்த்ரே

பேச்சுப் புலன், காது, கண், கால் முதலிய அங்கங்களை இழந்தவருக்கு அவற்றை மீண்டும் கொடுத்து சுகத்தை அளிப்பவரும், குஷ்டம் முதலிய மிகப் பெரியதான ரோகங்களைப் போக்குகின்றவருமான
ஸ்ரீவைத்யநாதன் என்ற பரமசிவனை நமஸ்கரிக்கின்றேன்.
I salute that God Shiva, Who is the king among physicians,
Who blesses those beings who have lost their speech, hearing, sight and ability to walk, With these abilities and
Who provides cure for devastating diseases like leprosy.

Vaakshrothra Nethraangrimukha Pradaaya,
Kushthaadhi Sarvonnatha Roga Hanthre,
Shri Vaidyanaathaaya Namah Shivaaya ||
To those impaired in speech, hearing, sight and movement,
You bestow the boon of those abilities
You remove the most dreadful diseases

त्रिमूर्तिरूपाय सहस्रनाम्ने . த்ரிமூர்த்திரூபாய ஸஹஸ்ரநாம்னே
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ६॥ . ஸ்ரீவைத்யநாதாய நம: ஸிவாய
வேதாந்தங்களால் அறியத் தகுந்தவரும், உலகில் உள்ள எல்லா பொருட்களுமாக இருப்பவரும், யோகீஸ்வரர்களால் தியானம் செய்யத்தக்க சரணங்களை உடையவரும்,
பிரம்ம-விஷ்ணு வடிவாய் விளங்குபவரும்,
ஆயிரம் நாமங்களை உடையவருமான
ஸ்ரீ வைத்யநாதன் எனும் பரமசிவனை நமஸ்கரிக்கின்றேன்.
I salute that God Shiva, Who is the king among physicians,
Who can be known through vedantha,
Who is spread throughout the universe,
Who has a lotus feet that is meditated upon by great sages,
Who is of the form of the holy trinity and
Who has thousand names.

Yogiswaradhyeya Padambujaaya,
Trimurthi Roopaaya Sahasra Naamne,
Shri Vaidyanaathaaya Namah Shivaaya ||
The all-pervading One who can be contemplated through Vedas,
Yogis meditate to perceive His lotus-like feet
The form of the Trimurtis, praised in a thousand names,

स्वतीर्थमृद्भ स्मभृताङ्गभाजां . ஸ்வதீர்த்தம்ருத் பஸ்மப்ருதங்கபாஜாம்
पिशाचदुःखार्तिभयापहाय ।. பிஸாசது:க்கார்த்திபயாபஹாய
आत्मस्वरूपाय शरीरभाजां . ஆத்மஸ்வரூபாய ஸரீரபாஜாம்
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ७॥ . ஸ்ரீவைத்யநாதாய நம: ஸிவாய
தனது தீர்த்தமாகிய சித்தாம்ருத தீர்த்தத்தில் நீராடுவதாலும்,
தனது வைத்தீஸ்வரன் கோயிலில் கொடுக்கப்படும்
மருந்து உருண்டைகளாலும், தனது விபூதியினாலும்,
தன் கோயிலில் உள்ள வேப்பமரத்தின் அடியிலுள்ள மண்ணினாலும், தனது குளத்து மண்ணினாலும்,
பிசாசு, ரோகம் போன்ற துக்கங்களையும் மனக் கவலையையும், பயத்தையும் போக்குகின்றவரும்
சரீரத்தை அடைந்தவர்களுக்கு அந்தராத்மாவாய் இருப்பவருமான
ஸ்ரீ வைத்யநாதன் என்ற பரமசிவனை நமஸ்கரிக்கின்றேன்.
I salute that God Shiva, Who is the king among physicians ,
Who removes all sufferings caused by bad spirits, sorrows and fears
by dip in His holy tank, by the holy ash in the temple, and
by the mud below the Neem tree of the temple, and
Who is the personification of soul, Occupying human body.
|| Swatheertha-Amrutabhasma-Bhrudanga Bhaajaam,
Pishaacha Dukkhaarthi Bhayaapahaaya,
Aathma Swaroopaaya Shareera Bhaajaam,
Shri Vaidyanaathaaya Namah Shivaaya ||
Whose body is smeared in ash, earth, and holy water,
The Remover of fear, suffering, and evil influences
Whose form represents the soul, spread across the body

श्रीनीलकण्ठाय वृषध्वजाय . ஸ்ரீநீலகண்டாய வ்ருஷத்வஜாய
स्रग्गन्ध भस्माद्यभिशोभिताय । . ஸ்ரக்கந்த பஸ்மாத்யபிஸோபிதாய
सुपुत्रदारादि सुभाग्यदाय . ஸுபுத்ரதாராதி ஸுபாக்யதாய
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ८॥ . ஸ்ரீவைத்யநாதாய நம: ஸிவாய
விஷம் அருந்தியதால் நீலமான கண்டத்தை உடையவரும்,
ரிஷபத்தை வாகனமாகக் கொண்டவரும்,
மாலை, சந்தனம், விபூதி ஆகியவற்றால் பிரகாசிக்கின்றவரும்,
நல்ல மனைவி, நல்ல குழந்தைகள் என்ற
நல்ல பாக்கியங்களைக் கொடுக்கின்றவருமான
ஸ்ரீ வைத்யநாதன் என்ற பரமசிவனை நமஸ்கரிக்கின்றேன்.
I salute that God Shiva,Who is the king among physicians,
Who has a blue neck,Who has the the bull on his flag,
Who shines by flowers, sacred ash and sandal,
Who grants good children and good wife and
Who blesses us with all good luck.
|| Shri Neelakanthaaya Vrushabdhwajaaya,
Straggandha Basmaadhya-Abhi Shobithaaya,
Suputhra Daaraadhi Shubhaagyadaaya,
Shri Vaidyanaathaaya Namah Shivaaya ||
The divine Lord with a blue throat,
whose flag bears the symbol of an ox,
The Granter of good offspring, spouse, and prosperity
I bow to you O Sri Vaidyanatha, O Shiva!
बालाम्बिकेश वैद्येश . வாலாம்பிகேச வைத்யேச
भवरोगहरेति च । . பவரோக ஹரேதிச
जपेन्नामत्रयं नित्यं . ஜபேந் நாமத்ரயந் நித்யம்
महारोग निवारणम् ॥ ९॥ . மஹாரோக நிவாரணம்
Those who recite this prayer thrice a day with devotion and
pray the Lord Vaidyanatha, Who is with His consort Balambika,
and Who removes the fear of birth and death
would get cured of all great diseases.
|| Vaalambikesha Vaidyesha Bhava Roga Harethi Cha,
Japen Naama Thrayam Nithyam Mahaa Roga Nivaaranam ||
The three names: Balambikesha, Vaidyesha, Bhavarogahara,
when chanted every day, will bring divine healing.
(மேலே சொல்லப்பட்ட ஸ்லோகங்களை உளமாறச் சொல்வோருக்கு) வாலாம்பிகைக்கு நாதனானவரும்,
வைத்தியர்களிலேயே மிகவும் சிறந்தவரும்,
ஜனன, மரணமென்ற ரோகத்தைப் போக்குகின்றவரும் ஆகிய
வைத்யநாதரின் மூன்று நாமாக்களையும் (வாலாம்பிகேச, வைத்யேச, பவரோக ஹரேதிச) தினமும் ஜபிப்பவர்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்டிருக்கக்கூடிய கொடிய நோய்கள் விலகும்.
இந்த அஷ்ட ஸ்லோகம் மகான்களால் தொன்று தொட்டு ஜபிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது என்பதே இதன் சிறப்பை விளக்கவல்லது.
